I feel I am learning a new approach to playing based on how chords, rhythm and harmony work, giving me the building blocks to actively make music, instead of being dependant exclusively on reading a score. This approach has been dynamic, relaxed and fun and I am especially enjoying learning Cuban styles of playing. Steve is always very flexible and accommodating and has made learning online surprisingly straightforward and effective.

I was looking for a new direction away from the constraints of learning classical music, unable to play without a musical score. I started lessons with Steve via Zoom during Covid times. His setup for online teaching was excellent. He taught me chord structures - a totally new concept for me. I appreciated his clear explanations and flexibility - tailoring the lessons to my needs and wishes. He was patient and encouraging.
